Fellowship Award

Revson Fellows receive a financial stipend, tuition benefits, a full year of medical insurance, academic guidance, and the opportunity to work with faculty from all branches of Columbia University, as well as access to Columbia’s resources, including libraries, online resources, specialized institutes, and research facilities.

A year of study, reflection, and academic guidance

The Revson Fellowship provides a stipend of $28,000 for the academic year. Fellows receive half of the stipend on the first day of the fall semester and half on the first day of spring semester.

The tuition award covers at least two courses per term and can be applied toward degree credit. In addition, Fellows are entitled to audit an unlimited number of courses, pursue guided readings or independent studies with faculty members.

Reflections on the Fellowship

The Revson Program is an unparalleled opportunity for committed New Yorkers to refuel-through conversations, classes, projects and reflection. For me, the Revson year provided a much-needed pause to assess the past and plan for the future, with guidance and support from the academic and activist communities. At the end of the year, I emerged stronger and clearer about my work goals, and personally more enriched and replenished by new relationships with colleagues and professors. With the Revson network and annual meetings to look forward to, the program keeps sustaining those of us working to make New York City a better place to live for all New Yorkers.
