Resources
As one of the top academic and research institutions in the world, Columbia University possesses a wealth of resources that enhance the Revson experience. Fellows make their course selections from over a hundred departments across three undergraduate schools, thirteen graduate and professional schools, and a school of continuing education.
Fellows have full access to libraries, archival holdings, computing facilities, and online interactive learning resources.
Fellows are also entitled to participate in a wide variety of seminars and workshops offered by the University and its research centers and institutes. Such centers bring together faculty, graduate students, and practitioners to present and discuss ongoing research. Examples include the Columbia University Seminars, the workshops of the Institute for Social and Economic Research and Policy (ISERP), the Institute for Child and Family Policy, the Institute for Research in African-American Studies, and the Oral History Research Office.
Fellows also benefit from conferences, lectures, and other public forums sponsored by organizations within the University, which bring a dazzling array of global and local leaders and scholars to campus. The following list names just a few of the centers that sponsor such events: the Earth Institute, the World Leaders Forum, the Heyman Center for the Humanities, the Center for New Media Teaching and Learning, the Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race, and the Center for the Study of Human Rights.
In addition, Fellows are encouraged to enjoy the University’s arts and cultural offerings including world class performances at Miller Theater, programming supported by the Columbia Arts Initiative, and exhibitions at the University’s art and architecture galleries.
Fellows also enjoy exclusive use of the Revson Fellows office, an on-campus study suite equipped with computers and Ethernet ports for laptops users.
Fellows are also encouraged and to unwind at the Dodge Physical Fitness Center, take advantage of University Health Services, and to explore dining options at the many restaurants and cafes located on and around campus.

My fellowship year provided me with the opportunity to test myself in new ways by engaging in academic studies and thinking more deeply about the issues with which we struggle on a daily basis. Taking the time to stretch myself intellectually has been incredibly rewarding, particularly within the context of the fellowship. I was honored to be a part of this cohort, all of the fellows were wonderfully supportive and interesting people and it was a gift to meet and work with each of them, as well as the Revson staff. It has been a wonderful year and I feel reinvigorated about my work as well as looking forward to continuing academic studies.
