Seminars

Revson Weekly Seminars

In addition to their individual study programs, Fellows meet collectively twice a week during the fall and spring semesters. The seminars provide an opportunity for Fellows to discuss ideas, present their ongoing work, and invite faculty members to present or lead discussions of selected readings. Local and national leaders in public, corporate, non-profit, and civic life, as well as Columbia faculty, are also invited to discuss subjects of broad interest to the Fellows. Revson alumni frequently attend seminar meetings, sharing their own work and building bridges across cohorts.

Writing Seminar

One seminar each month is devoted to a writing seminar, which is directed by a writing instructor and uniquely created to address the interests of the cohort and provide sustained focus on critical thinking, writing, and expression.

See the Revson Fellowship calendar of seminars and events for comprehensive information about upcoming programming, including speakers, dates, and venues for our seminars and special events. You may also subscribe to the fellowship’s RSS news feed.

Reflections on the Fellowship

Courses, camaraderie, community–the fellowship provided all three in an engaging fashion. I thought as a mid-career professional I would feel out of synch with the students but their perspectives challenged me and the professors, the books I would have never read on my own and the guest speakers refreshed and enlivened my thinking and work practices. The fellowship felt like a sabbatical–only it took place on-campus.
