Anthony Advincula
Revson Fellow 2007-2008
Editorial and Communications Coordinator
Independent Press Association-New York
Anthony D. Advincula is the Editorial and Communications Coordinator for the Independent Press Association-New York, the only association of ethnic and community publications in the city. He manages and executes press conferences, editorial training and membership outreach, as well as co-edits Voices That Must Be Heard, IPA’s online publication. Prior to IPA, Mr. Advincula was the editor-in-chief of The Filipino Express, an English-language national weeky, and a correspondent for The Jersey Journal. He also won several journalism awards for his investigative and in-depth reporting on education, housing, labor and immigration issues. In 2003, he was a fellow of The New York Times and IPA’s Ethnic Press Fellowship. He attended the University of the Philippines and Harvard University.

My year as a Revson Fellow was undeniably a productive experience from which I was able to benefit significantly. It afforded me a unique opportunity for the in-depth examination of child-care services in New York City and for the detailed analysis of public policies influencing the administration of the Human Resources Administration and its Agency for Child Development.
